Participants of Q Processing Level 2 will not only study but also take part directly in best practices of specialty coffee processing in the field. By applying knowledge and carefully analyzing each stage of the process, they are expected to produce exceptional coffees that meet the desired standards. Meanwhile, participants of the Q Fermentation Class will gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of fermentation—covering the role of microorganisms, inoculation, and methods for controlling fermentation to shape coffee flavor.
You may also choose to join the Q Processing Level 1 course at Two Tigers Lab in Medan, or take part in all of the programs (special rates are available for full-course participants). Alternatively, you can select just one of the three programs offered.
The program will be led by Mr. Johan Kwe, founder of 3 Beans Coffee and Director of Simalem Specialty Coffee. He was awarded CQI Educator of the Year 2024 and SCAI Best Q Processing Instructor 2024. Johan is the first licensed Q Processing Instructor in Indonesia for both arabica and robusta. In addition, he is a CQI Q Processing Expert (Texas A&M), Assistant Instructor for Q Grader courses, and a Certified International Coffee Judge.
